COM Surrogate has stopped working !!!!!!

Ever had problem while browsing folders in vista...One of the most common thing is COM surrogate has stopped working...Its really very annoying..Its caused mainly due to older versions of nero,divx,ffdshow codecs or thumbnail previews...

 

 

Heres the solution.....

   Right click on Computer, and choose Properties

Click on Advanced System Settings, and then under Advanced, click Settings

Select the "Data Execution Protection" tab, and then click Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select"
Click on the Add button, and then browse to C:\Windows\System32\dllhost.exe as shown..
Click Open, and then OK.

This should solve the problem for most....This method can also be used for other non responding exe`s.....Vista reallysuckss.....

    In the fantasy adventure based on Ubisoft's popular video game, Gyllenhaal will play Dastan, a young prince in sixth century Persia who must join forces with Tamina (Arterton), a feisty and exotic princess, to prevent a villainous nobleman from possessing the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.The film was shot mainly in Morocco.

   The film is being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by. An early draft of the script was written by Jordan Mechner, the creator of the Prince of Persia franchise. According to the filmmakers, the film will not be a "beat-for-beat" adaptation, but will combine some "cool" elements from the game to create a "totally new experience" for the viewers. An early script was reportedly reviewed by two individual sites, but the authenticity of this script has not been confirmed.

Prince of Persia is an upcoming vide game developed by Ubisoft. It is scheduled to be released in late 2008. The game opens an entirely new chapter in the Prince of Persia universe in addition to introducing a fresh Illustrative art style, evolved combat system, open world structure and dynamic AI – most notably in the form of the Prince’s powerful ally Elika.
    Set in a land rooted in ancient Persian mythology, the Prince finds himself caught in an epic battle between the primal forces of light and darkness. He must partner with Elika, a deadly companion, to heal the world from the evil Corruption that is spreading across the land.
   The adventure begins with a new Prince Of Persia, a wanderer, a vagabond, is returning home from an adventure on a donkey laden with treasure, which he earned on his previous venture. He desires to spend his treasure on many luxuries, including women and liquor. But suddenly, he is caught in a fierce sandstorm. When the sandstorm subsides, he finds himself in a mythical garden of beauty, dominated at its center by a massive Tree Of life. The Prince and a girl, Elika, find each other, and, in the same predicament, decide to help each other. Together, they venture to the center of this grand oasis. When they arrive at the center, they witness the destruction of the tree, and the freedom of Ahriman, the ancient god of darkness. After being set free, Ahriman starts corrupting the lands with darkness and evil. The Prince, with the aid of Elika and her new found powers, take up arms against Ahriman's corruption, in an attempt to drive it back and cleanse the world.
 The graphic styles as visible from the screenshots is completely different wich i wil hav to get used to.It still seems dark and haunting but it's also beautiful. The series previous art direction was becoming tired and with every game you were getting more of the same thing. I'm really glad Ubisoft decided to switch it up.Mey be this is going to be the best thing that ever happend.
  Elika is described as a "deadly ally," and a strong supporting character, who will affect every aspect of the game, as she accompanies the Prince throughout the game. This includes exploration, combat and puzzle-solving. A descendant of the Ahuras, she can perform some special moves in tandem with the Prince, and use her magical abilities to aid the Prince in his quest. She is also able to guide the Prince on the right track in case he is lost in his way in the game and can assist him in solving multiple puzzles as well.
The E3 demo begins with the Prince and his companion Elika arriving in an area infested by corruption. The black goo acts as your constant adversary throughout POP -- it makes up the traps and enemies you encounter. Elika's Compass spell casts a light on the direction of your objective. It doesn't tell you how to get there, but it will keep you from getting completely lost. And it's a clever way to negate the need for a mini-map -- or any HUD at all.
Ubisoft Montreal sure does know how to make appealing games but if they can deliver with pop remains to be seen. I was so excited for assasins creed and ended up hating to game, i hope this turns out a little better

Tle legendary shooter is bacl in 2008...The game wich revolutionised gamin is coming back hopefully with a change..The original Far Cry won PC Gamer’s Action Game of the Year Award in 2004. This farcry doesnt seems as "greenish" as the original one.The game is played in Africa and the trailers lokk like a doucumentary of Africa.In July 2007, Ubisoft sent a team of the game's developers to Africa to carry-out research for the game. They reportedly spent two weeks traveling around Kenya and camping out on the savannah.
Ubisoft has developed a new engine specifically for Far Cry 2, called Dunia, meaning "world" or "earth".It delivers the most realistic destructible environments, amazing special effects such as dynamic fire propagation and storm effects, real-time night-and-day cycle, dynamic music system, non-scripted enemy A.I. and so much more…

The map is spread around 5okms with day and night systems.There is a dynamic weather system that adapts to how well you are currently doing. If you're shooting everything in site, and well too, the skies will be clear and sunny, but if you start getting owned, the sky will darken and become overcast.There will be no medipacks and health bars instead u heal on ur own as in call of duty 4.

A pre-Alpha video of the game, showcasing visuals and 13 minutes of gameplay, with developer commentary, is available in .zip format at GamersLand.During a demo at the DreamHack Summer 2008 event, Ubisoft developers also showcased some new game play mechanics, such as weapon jamming, vehicle damage, propagating fire, destructible environments, adaptive enemy artificial intelligence, as well as day and night cycles, and dynamic weather.

The game will be much more realistic with features such as the player having to use a map and compass to get around, and more life or death related features such as having to use tools to dig bullets out of the body and pat themselves down when on fire. Several species of African wildlife can be encountered in the game, and will be able to distract the enemy as well as make them aware of your presence.
